Who it is for
For professionals managing stress, adults improving their metabolic health, athletes chasing performance, and anyone with goals for their body, mind, and life. Dr. Bailey leads and oversees every performance medicine plan, bringing in dietitians, physical therapists, coaches, and exercise physiologists whenever their expertise is needed.
Each patient leaves with a personalized, in-depth plan, usually around 50 pages, built to educate you and give you a clear, step-by-step path to your goals.
What we measure
Testing turns guesswork into a plan, and most of it is included with your medical membership. See the full lineup on our testing page, including a DEXA body-composition scan and VO2 max test. From there we check in often, with repeat testing and time with your medical care team, to keep you on track, adjust as you hit milestones, and keep you motivated along the way.
Comprehensive blood work and hormone panels, focused on metabolic health, cardiovascular risk factors, and insulin resistance.
DEXA scan of lean mass, fat, and visceral fat, by region.
Resting metabolic rate to guide fueling and weight.
VO2 max testing for aerobic capacity and training zones.
Evaluation by our exercise physiologist, with sports science testing when appropriate.
DEXA bone mineral density with T and Z scores.
At-home sleep testing for recovery and health.

From our patients
“I’m really happy to be working with Dr. Bailey — he’s been very impactful on my overall health. The DEXA gave me a lot of great information about my muscle and my body, and the VO2 max helped me get a feel for where my heart health is. I’m just thankful Shawn could guide me through all of it.”
“THE ARMORY is a one-stop shop for athletes, or people trying to better themselves and improve their longevity. I went through the human performance lab — a DEXA scan, VO2 max, resting metabolic rate, and blood work — with an amazing medical staff, nutritionist, and physical therapist. As a professional athlete who travels a lot, I’m looking for an edge, and this is going to help me improve all aspects of my performance and gain that edge on the field.”
Patient stories
“In December 2023 I made the decision to change to THE ARMORY for my medical care. Dr. Bailey was recommended and it sounded like what I was looking for. From the first visit I was impressed. The in-depth physical and DEXA scan gave them the information they needed to start me on my journey to a healthier version of me. Being a performance medicine patient provided me the opportunity to sit down with Audrey the dietician. I never knew how to eat properly. The changes we made stuck. Learning the right way to eat for my needs, having THE ARMORY to work out, and the care that Dr. Bailey provides has changed my life. For the first time in a decade I am under 300 lbs. I am now 3 months into my journey, and I have lost nearly 20 lbs of fat and gained nearly 2 lbs of lean mass because I now understand better diet and exercise. What THE ARMORY offers is a path to a better life. Update: I have since dropped under 230 lbs, and I am still going strong.”
Aaron · Performance Medicine Patient
“As a performance medicine patient I can say the staff at THE ARMORY are nothing but the best. The Wellness Coordinator, Nurses, Dietician, Physical Therapist all the way up to Dr. Bailey have been exceptional week in and week out. With their guidance, kindness, and patience I have learned about proper nutrition and exercise while building confidence in myself and my abilities. This has allowed me to lose approximately 85 lbs of fat and over 42 inches from my neck, chest, waist, pant, and hip over an 18 month period, all while in my early 50's. If you are willing to put in the effort they will be there to support you the entire way on your journey.”

“Dr. Shawn and all of the resources at THE ARMORY have been such an important piece of my preparations for the Olympic Games. Dr. Shawn has helped me to dial in my macros, and the DEXA and RMR testing have helped me track my metrics every step of the way. I can’t thank Dr. Shawn or the staff at THE ARMORY enough for their continued support. Can’t say enough about how much your support has meant to us!”

Adults who want to feel and perform their best, not just treat illness. Your medical care team evaluates where you are and builds a plan around your goals.
No. Dr. Bailey focuses only on performance medicine. Think of him as a specialist consultant you see for specific goals, not your everyday doctor. Your primary care, the routine and preventive medicine, is handled by Rebecca McClain, a family nurse practitioner, or by Dr. Joseph Jacko. Many members do both: Rebecca or Dr. Jacko as their primary care provider, and Dr. Bailey for performance medicine.
No. You are welcome to keep your primary care provider wherever you like and still see Dr. Bailey for performance medicine consultations.
