The classes
Strength Lab is a progressive program designed to build stronger, more resilient athletes. Each full-body session develops strength, mobility, and stability through intentional movement and sound technique. You'll train with TRX, barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, trap bars, medicine balls, and bodyweight equipment to improve muscular endurance, functional power, and overall performance. With clear progressions and modifications for every fitness level, you'll leave each session feeling stronger, more capable, and ready for the next step in your training.
MetCon blends weight training, cardio intervals, and bodyweight movements to build total-body strength and conditioning. Each session emphasizes proper form, power output, and sustainable endurance, with every workout fully scalable to your current fitness level. This class delivers a supportive, high-energy environment with constantly varied programming that challenges, motivates, and builds well-rounded athletic performance.
Taught by Alissa Ray
Powerhouse Pilates strengthens you from the inside out through breath-driven, low-impact movement. This 60-minute class focuses on deep core activation, joint stability, mobility, and controlled lower-body work. Expect plank variations, high-rep and low-weight exercises, and intentional movements that build a strong mind-to-muscle connection. We occasionally use light weights, loop bands, ankle weights, and weighted rings to increase the challenge. Low impact does not mean low intensity. You will leave feeling centered, strong, and fully engaged.

Group Fitness Instructor
A former collegiate baseball player, John has been coaching group fitness at THE ARMORY for over a year and brings deep experience in CrossFit-style and strength + cardio training. He’s known for his upbeat energy, constant encouragement, and ability to lift the mood of any room he walks into. John’s workouts are challenging yet scalable, making them accessible for all fitness levels. A proud girl dad and longtime family friend of Shawn and Meredith Bailey, John leads with positivity, loyalty, and heart.

Certified Personal Trainer • Group Fitness Instructor
Kobe is a NASM-certified trainer, former collegiate football player, and professional MMA fighter with a deep background in strength, conditioning, and combat sports. A GMAC champion at Alderson Broaddus and Ohio’s top-ranked amateur lightweight before going pro, he now blends boxing, functional training, and mental toughness to push clients beyond their limits. Kobe brings focus, grit, and high-level intensity to every session.

Pilates Instructor
Alissa is a proud double Buckeye, an Ohio State graduate now pursuing her M.D. at OSU’s College of Medicine. She began teaching Pilates at OSU’s Recreation Center, where she discovered a passion for helping others grow through movement. With a future in primary care, Alissa is committed to using fitness as a tool for long-term health, combining clinical insight with a supportive, empowering coaching style.

Tyler is an ISSA and TRX certified personal trainer with a lifelong foundation in athletics. A military brat raised in a sports-driven family of coaches and trainers, he grew up surrounded by discipline, teamwork, and a deep respect for movement. He’s known for his patience, authenticity, and passion for helping clients of all ages, especially older adults, feel stronger, safer, and more confident in their bodies. Tyler truly goes the extra mile, creating a supportive environment where every client feels cared for and capable of long-term success.

Certified Personal Trainer • Group Fitness Instructor
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Tyler is a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and holds a Level 2 Fitness certification from the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). He’s passionate about helping clients reach their fitness goals, whether that means improving overall wellness or enhancing athletic performance. Known for his kind, approachable style, Tyler specializes in working with golfers to build strength, mobility, and precision on and off the course.

Wendy Massey is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, Menopause Specialist, and IFBB Bikini Pro, specializing in helping men and women, especially those 40 and over, build strength, move better, and feel more confident in their bodies. After a 32-year career in Columbus Police 911 Communications, Wendy found her passion for fitness later in life, eventually earning her IFBB Pro card. She now helps clients achieve long-term health and results through structured training and realistic, sustainable lifestyle habits.

Certified Personal Trainer • Group Fitness Instructor
Kailyn is a certified personal trainer and medical assistant at THE ARMORY with a lifelong passion for health and movement. A graduate of Ohio University, she’s been active in fitness since middle school and brings a calm, supportive energy to every session. Kailyn plans to pursue graduate school to become a physician assistant, and she shines in her ability to connect with older adults and individuals with disabilities. Her patience, compassion, and gentle strength make her one of the most trusted and beloved members of our team.

The unlimited group fitness membership is $99 a month and requires a medical or gym membership. You can also drop in to any class for $25.
Every class is scalable, with modifications for wherever you are today, from your first class to advanced.

You can cancel your membership anytime, once any minimum commitment for your plan is complete. To avoid your next charge, submit your cancellation before your next billing (renewal) date. Canceling stops future billing, but it does not refund a payment that has already been processed. If you cancel on or after your billing date, that cycle has already been charged and is not refundable, and you keep access for the rest of that paid period. For example, if your membership renews on the first of the month, cancel on or before the last day of the previous month to avoid the next charge. There are no partial or prorated refunds.
