Why We Created THE ARMORY
Our Vision
We started THE ARMORY because we were dissatisfied with the traditional model of outpatient healthcare in the U.S. It was fragmented, reactive, and often impersonal. We knew a better way was possible.
THE ARMORY exists to solve a problem—to fill a void in the current system.
We believe insurance often gets in the way of truly great care. By removing it from the equation, we've created something rare: a direct relationship between provider and patient, free from red tape and focused entirely on outcomes.
This shift has allowed us to attract the most compassionate, highly skilled professionals—people who believe in whole-person, proactive care.
We also believe that true health doesn’t come from any one service alone. It requires a team. It requires doctors, nutrition experts, movement specialists, recovery tools, and support for your emotional, psychological, and even spiritual well-being.
THE ARMORY is our solution.
A unified space. A connected team. A better way to get healthy—and stay that way.
Why We Chose The Name

An armory is traditionally a place where weapons are stored and warriors are trained—a hub of strength, preparation, and protection. That’s exactly what we’ve created, but for health.
At THE ARMORY, our tools aren’t weapons. They’re expert providers, cutting-edge fitness programs, advanced recovery services, and proactive medical care—all under one roof. Just like an armory prepares soldiers for the battlefield, we prepare our members to take on life at their strongest—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
You bring the will. We provide the arsenal. Together, we build a healthier, stronger you.
Our Story

Founders and owners, Shawn and Meredith Bailey, have been providing patient centered healthcare for over two decades. Shawn received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University before getting his Doctor of Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2001. Shawn completed his Internal Medicine residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in 2004. Meredith earned her bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from The Ohio State University in 2000, graduating magna cum laude.

Even as graduate students, they dreamt of joining their disciplines and their love of health and exercise. They envisioned a one-stop, all-inclusive health center. After graduation, Shawn chose to open his own practice instead of joining existing medical practices, in order to start building the foundations for what was to become THE ARMORY. Similarly, Meredith chose to take ownership of Tremont Pharmacy from her father, where she could take advantage of, and expand on, the personal customer experience and services that exist uniquely in the independent pharmacy setting.

Shawn practiced traditional insurance-based medicine for 13 years, where he grew a large practice and helped many people. As insurance companies continued to mold and shape healthcare on their terms, it became clear that the traditional model was not only unsustainable for a physician, but also not in the best interest of his patients. In 2016, they decided to open Grandview Pro Fitness to bridge the gap between medicine and physical fitness. In 2017 they decided to take a chance and leave insurance-based medicine in order to best serve their patients overall health and wellness. It proved to be a massive success, transforming not only many of his patients' health outcomes, but also their overall quality of life. This favorable model allowed them to expand services, and to gradually complete the vision they had when they were in their 20’s. With the opening of THE ARMORY, they are taking the next step in the evolution of their vision.
