Shawn Bailey MD
Physician • Owner • CEO
Physician, engineer, and founder of THE ARMORY. Dr. Bailey earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and his M.D. from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. After completing his Internal Medicine residency at Riverside Hospital in 2004, he and Meredith launched their first practice, Hayden Run Internal Medicine, which has since evolved into THE ARMORY —a comprehensive health, fitness, and performance facility dedicated to delivering integrated, evidence-based care.

Rebecca McClain MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Board-certified Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience at THE ARMORY. Rebecca has grown into a trusted leader delivering accessible, personalized Direct Primary Care. As EVP of Medical, she guides THE ARMORY'S integrated medical services to support every member’s health goals.

Letitia McGuff
Armory Arena Coordinator • Head Basketball Coach
Coach Tish brings high-level experience, leadership, and energy to everything she does at THE ARMORY. A former college basketball player at Notre Dame, she now leads basketball operations and helps manage the Armory Arena. Known for her ability to inspire young athletes and keep things organized behind the scenes, Letitia helps build a culture of discipline, growth, and joy—both on and off the court.

Rachel Burkley RN
Registered Nurse
Rachel is a skilled and compassionate registered nurse who helps power the medical team at THE ARMORY. With a calm presence and a detail-oriented mindset, she ensures every patient experience is safe, professional, and welcoming. Rachel brings experience across multiple care settings and is known for her ability to connect with patients of all backgrounds. She’s committed to helping every person feel seen, heard, and cared for.

Sam Bernhardt RDN, LD, MDN
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Sam is a registered dietitian at THE ARMORY with a background in sports performance and functional nutrition. She believes we’re all athletes—some in sport, all in life—and the fuel we choose determines how we perform. Her mission is to simplify nutrition and help individuals take control of their health through intentional choices around food, movement, and lifestyle. Sam cuts through the noise to find what works best for each person in a clear, personalized way.

Trinity Isom
Strength and Conditioning Coach
Trinity Isom is an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at THE ARMORY, known for her energy, leadership, and athlete-first mindset. A former collegiate soccer player at Tiffin University, Trinity earned her B.S. in Exercise Science and a Master’s in Sports Coaching from The Ohio State University. She’s coached at the University of Pittsburgh, Ohio State, and Colorado United Soccer Club. Trinity brings a holistic, performance-driven approach to developing athletes—mentally and physically—at every stage of their journey.

Kailyn Williams CPT (NCSA)
Medical Assistant • Certified Personal Trainer • Group Fitness Instructor
Kailyn is a certified personal trainer and medical assistant at THE ARMORY with a lifelong passion for health and movement. A graduate of Ohio University, she’s been active in fitness since middle school and brings a calm, supportive energy to every session. Kailyn plans to pursue graduate school to become a physician assistant, and she shines in her ability to connect with older adults and individuals with disabilities. Her patience, compassion, and gentle strength make her one of the most trusted and beloved members of our team.

Aaron Alvelo CPT (ISSA)
Certified Personal Trainer • Group Fitness Instructor
Aaron is a certified ISSA personal trainer with a lifelong background in coaching elite fastpitch softball programs like the Beverly Bandits and Ohio Hawks. After spending 30 years in construction, he came to THE ARMORY as a patient—ultimately losing over 100 pounds of fat and gaining 20 pounds of muscle in just 18 months. That transformation sparked a new mission: helping others become the strongest version of themselves. Known for his tough-but-kind coaching style, Aaron may look intimidating, but his heart—and his commitment to your progress—are pure gold.

Kobe Woodall CPT (NASM)
Group Fitness Instructor
Kobe is a NASM-certified trainer, former collegiate football player, and professional MMA fighter with a deep background in strength, conditioning, and combat sports. A GMAC conference champion at Alderson Broaddus and Ohio’s top-ranked amateur lightweight before going pro, he now blends boxing, functional training, and mental toughness to push clients beyond their limits. Kobe brings focus, grit, and high-level intensity to every session.

Kilyn McGuff
Assistant Basketball Skills Coach • Marketing Intern
Kilyn graduated from Butler University where she was named second team all Big East her senior year. She will be playing professionally in Germany in the fall of 2025. Kilyn brings high level basketball experience as well as a love of teaching young athletes to THE ARMORY staff.

Danielle Fornek
Executive Assistant
Danielle serves as Executive Assistant to EVP Anthony Schlegel, keeping operations organized, efficient, and moving at high speed. She thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in being the go-to person when things need to get done—quickly and well. Outside of work, she’s a proud Ninja Warrior mom, managing family life with the same energy and precision she brings to THE ARMORY. Her dedication, positivity, and problem-solving make her an invaluable part of the team.

Cade Barrett
ARMORY Team Coordinator
Cade Barrett is an enthusiastic Armory Team Coordinator (ATC) at THE ARMORY, where he keeps our operations organized and energized. While interning in strength and conditioning with Ohio State University’s track and field program, he brings athletic insight and discipline into everything he coordinates at Armory. A former college football defensive lineman at Bemidji State University in Minnesota—where he earned First-Team All‑NSIC honors and served as team captain—Cade applies leadership and a winning mindset to every project he supports.

Tyler Smith
ARMORY Team Coordinator
Tyler Smith is a high-energy, purpose-driven leader passionate about making a lasting impact. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine from Ohio University, with minors in Nutrition and Coaching. Bringing strong experience in sales and operations improvement, Tyler is dedicated to helping The Armory thrive and deliver exceptional results. When he’s not at the gym, you can usually find him enjoying his favorite treat—ice cream.

Zack Weber
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Zack Weber joined THE ARMORY as a strength and conditioning intern this summer, bringing relentless energy and work ethic that instantly elevated the training environment. A recent Bishop Watterson graduate, he starred at linebacker and running back during their 16–0 run to the 2024 Division III state championship. Zack still holds school records for rushing yards, touchdowns, and team squat max. This fall, he continues his football career at the University of Charleston (WV).

Jenny Edgington LISW
Counselor
Jenny Edgington, LISW is a licensed clinical social worker and counselor with THE ARMORY, bringing both professional expertise and a caring presence to our community. Based in Columbus, Jenny also teaches within local schools and provides individual counseling sessions at the Tremont Pharmacy location through our collaboration. She supports mental wellness, offering compassionate support for anxiety, depression, and general well‑being. With a warm, grounded style, Jenny helps our team and clients grow stronger—mind and spirit.

Jada Day
ARMORY Team Coordinator
Jada Day, BA in Communications and licensed insurance broker, helps clients navigate their options to find the right coverage for every stage of life. She specializes in Medicare and Medicare Supplement plans, standalone Dental and Vision coverage, Life Insurance and Final Expense policies, as well as Affordable Care Act plans. An Ohio State University graduate and lifelong soccer player, Jada enjoys staying active through running and unwinding with a good book or writing in her free time.

Meredith is a licensed pharmacist and co-founder of THE ARMORY. She serves as President of operations and brings decades of experience in health care, customer service, and community building. Meredith plays a key role in shaping the culture of care and connection across all locations. Her leadership, dedication, and eye for detail help ensure that THE ARMORY runs smoothly, stays mission-driven, and continues growing as a trusted resource for families in Columbus and beyond.

Grandview Pro Fitness General Manager
Mike is the General Manager of Grandview Pro Fitness and the friendly face behind daily operations. He keeps the gym running smoothly, supports staff, and helps members feel welcome and supported from the moment they walk in. Mike brings deep knowledge of facility management, a passion for fitness, and a people-first attitude to every shift. Whether it’s fixing equipment, greeting members, or handling logistics, he keeps Grandview on point.

Zoe McIntosh RN, BSN
Registered Nurse
Zoe McIntosh, RN is a Registered Nurse with a background in pediatric intensive care and a passion for patient-centered care. Before joining THE ARMORY, she spent four years in a high-acuity PICU, where she honed her clinical skills and sharp critical thinking. Zoe is known for her attention to detail, results-driven mindset, and ability to connect with patients on a personal level. She brings warmth, energy, and a calming presence to every interaction.

Breyona Colley EP-C
Exercise Physiologist • Volleyball Skills Coach
Brey received her Associates Degree from Howard University in Sports Kinesiology and went on to get her bachelor's degree from Ohio Dominican University in Exercise Science with a minor in sports nutrition and biology before earning her Exercise Physiologist accreditation from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

Christine McClaren CPT (NASM)
Exercise Physiology Assistant
Christine is passionate about helping others reach their health and fitness goals through personalized support and a welcoming, empowering approach. She holds a B.S. in Health and Sports Studies from Miami University of Ohio, with a focus in Exercise Science, and is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Christine is known for building strong client relationships and creating a positive, encouraging environment where every individual feels motivated and equipped to succeed.

Jesse Mirco
Punting and Kicking Skills Coach • Marketing Specialist
Jesse Mirco is a decorated collegiate punter who played three seasons at The Ohio State University and one at Vanderbilt, earning First Team All-SEC honors and an NFL Combine invitation. Known for mastering both traditional and Australian-style punting, Jesse ranks among the top in career punting averages at both schools. He holds a B.S. in Education from Ohio State and a Master’s in Marketing from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management, where he honed his passion for strategic communication and brand development.

Tyler Watling CPT (ACSM)
Certified Personal Trainer • Group Fitness Instructor
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Tyler is a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and holds a Level 2 Fitness certification from the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). He’s passionate about helping clients reach their fitness goals—whether that means improving overall wellness or enhancing athletic performance. Known for his kind, approachable style, Tyler specializes in working with golfers to build strength, mobility, and precision on and off the course.

Alissa Ray
Pilates Instructor
Alissa is a proud double Buckeye—an Ohio State graduate now pursuing her M.D. at OSU’s College of Medicine. She began teaching Pilates at OSU’s Recreation Center, where she discovered a passion for helping others grow through movement. With a future in primary care, Alissa is committed to using fitness as a tool for long-term health, combining clinical insight with a supportive, empowering coaching style.

Kenzie Bicking
Assistant Basketball Skills Coach • Sharp Shooter
Kenzie graduated from Muskingum University where she was a sharp shooting guard. Kenzie is excited to share her love for the game with young athletes. She will be a graduate assistant at Heidelberg University starting in the fall of 2025.

Tyler Poeschel
ARMORY Team Coordinator
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Tyler Poeschel is a driven leader with a strong background in athletics and operations. A Briggs High School graduate, he went on to play college football at The College of Wooster before earning his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Franklin University. Tyler currently serves as an Operations Supervisor at UPS. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, lifting heavy weights, and playing pickleball.

Lacey Stringer serves as an Armory Team Coordinator (ATC) at THE ARMORY, where she keeps our operations running seamlessly and supports the team with coordination and energy. A standout shot putter for Ohio State University’s track & field team, Lacey brings the same discipline, precision, and drive from her athletic career to every project she touches. Outside of work she’s a health sciences graduate student on the path to physical therapy—and always ready to throw excellence into everything she does.

Keiryn McGuff is a technology and marketing intern at THE ARMORY, where she blends creative insight with firsthand experience as a Division I athlete. A former standout at Bowling Green and current guard for the University of Akron women’s basketball team, Keiryn understands the mindset and discipline it takes to perform at a high level. At THE ARMORY, she supports digital strategy, social content, and on-site innovation with the same focus she brings to the court.

Anthony Schlegel
Executive Vice President (Fitness) • Strength & Conditioning Coach
Anthony Schlegel leads fitness and sports performance operations at THE ARMORY, bringing unmatched energy and his signature Attack and Dominate mindset to everything he does. A former Head Strength Coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Assistant Strength Coach at Ohio State, Schlegel holds both undergraduate and MBA degrees from The Ohio State University. He is the founder of The Difference USA, maker of patented football striking tools trusted by 125 Division I programs and 31 NFL teams nationwide.

T.J. Finley
Worthington Pro Fitness Owner and General Manager
TJ owns and manages Worthington Pro Fitness with a focus on personal service, member results, and creating a welcoming, high-performance environment. He holds a B.S. from The Ohio State University and brings a diverse athletic background—college football, six years of MMA competition (including a 6–2 pro record), and over a decade of powerlifting experience. A 2022 USPA Bench Press National Champion, TJ combines elite training insight with a down-to-earth approach that motivates and supports members at every level.

Jay Hooten CSCS
Director of Sports Performance • Head Strength & Conditioning Coach
Jay is a seasoned strength and conditioning coach with over 18 years of experience developing elite collegiate athletes. He spent 12 years as Director of Football Performance at Northwestern University, producing 30 NFL draft picks and two Big Ten West titles. A former Ohio State assistant during their 2002 national championship season, Jay blends data-driven programming with a deep commitment to athlete wellness, accountability, and long-term development.

Joseph Jacko MD
Physician
Dr. Jacko is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with decades of experience in clinical care, preventive medicine, and men’s health. Known for his thoughtful approach and commitment to long-term wellness, he brings a calm, focused presence to the medical team. At THE ARMORY, Dr. Jacko helps patients optimize their health through evidence-based care, cutting-edge diagnostics, and personalized health planning rooted in science and experience.

Doctor of Physical Therapy
Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in orthopedic rehab, sports injury recovery, and functional movement training. Focused on personalized treatment plans to relieve pain, restore mobility, and prevent future injuries.

Tyrel Jackson
Elite Basketball Skills Trainer • Head Basketball Coach
Tyrel has been with THE ARMORY since 2024. After playing college basketball at Capital University, he has trained many high level athletes including D1 and WNBA players with his elite basketball knowledge. He also teaches social studies to middle school students at St. Christopher Catholic School in Grandview.

Christina Curry
Licensed Massage Therapist
Christina graduated with a Health Sciences degree in Massage Therapy from Columbus State and now teaches at Columbus State in the Massage Therapy program. She specializes in Swedish Relaxation, Sports Massage, Oncology Massage, and Trigger Point Therapy.

Hannah Pany
Field Hockey Skills Coach
Coach Hannah trains athletes in both private and group settings. These skills training sessions are for players of all skill and experience levels to increase their on-field presence and sharpen their skill set.

John Hosgood
Group Fitness Instructor
A former collegiate baseball player, John has been coaching group fitness at THE ARMORY for over a year and brings deep experience in CrossFit-style and strength + cardio training. He’s known for his upbeat energy, constant encouragement, and ability to lift the mood of any room he walks into. John’s workouts are challenging yet scalable, making them accessible for all fitness levels. A proud girl dad and longtime family friend of Shawn and Meredith Bailey, John leads with positivity, loyalty, and heart.

Kenzie Vining CPT (ISSA)
Personal Trainer
Kenzie is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer at THE ARMORY and Grandview Pro Fitness. A University of Cincinnati graduate, she transitioned from the corporate world to pursue her true passion for fitness. A lifelong athlete and competitive powerlifter, Kenzie has a background in all-star cheerleading, sprinting, and pole vaulting. She specializes in strength training for individuals, including young athletes, and empowers clients of all ages to train effectively, build confidence, and lead healthy, active lives.

Sarah is the first friendly face you’ll see at THE ARMORY front desk, serving as our Medical Receptionist. She keeps visits running smoothly with strong organization, clear communication, and a focus on great patient experiences. Behind the scenes, Sarah supports the team and helps clients get what they need quickly and efficiently. Passionate about wellness and connection, she creates a warm, welcoming environment for every athlete and patient who walks through our doors.

Justen Stoner serves as an Armory Team Coordinator and Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, bringing sharp organization and high energy to every session. He holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from The Ohio State University, where he worked in the Volek Lab researching ketone supplementation and performance, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Kinesiology. With coaching experience at OSU, Gahanna Lincoln High School, and THE ARMORY, Justen supports elite athlete development at every level.

Cole Upton DNP, PMHNP‑BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Cole Upton DNP, PMHNP‑BC runs Upton Wellness, where he provides holistic psychiatric care—from medication management for ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorders to ketamine therapy, psychotherapy, and hormone support. Through a close collaboration with THE ARMORY, Cole supports our team’s emotional well‑being and mental resilience. As a fellow Ohio‑licensed DNP, he brings clinical depth, empathy, and a whole‑person focus to our partnership, helping us thrive both on and off the field.

Kody Richardson
ARMORY Team Coordinator
Kody Richardson is a lifelong football athlete and coach with a passion for developing players on and off the field. Originally from Delphos, Ohio, Kody played collegiate football at Urbana University before transferring to Marshall University, where he earned a B.S. in Business and an Associate’s in Digital Forensics. He now travels nationally competing in elite flag football tournaments with aspirations to represent Team USA. Kody also coaches junior high football and strength training, focusing on fundamentals, discipline, and growth.
